A start of a BAD..very bad day

Finally, a baranggay official announced that water would be resumed at 10 am, BUt it's now pat 12 and still no water supply! what is wrong with this people! Maynilad if you promised that water would be resumed at 10 then there should be water now! Is it still a Filipino trait, to be late? announcing the time when it would resume at a later time?! Then what the hell is the announcement for? Stick to what you promised! If its 10 then there should have water now! Announce the right time!

Thanks a lot! You know that water is important especially now that it is summer! What the heck were you thinking! Make announcement before cutting off something that is important to the consumers!

No h20

The worst thing that can happen when you wake up early in the morning is..when you have no water dripping in your faucet! We we're all surprise because our baranggay din not have their usual blaring of a megaphone roving all over the area telling us that there would be a water cutoff in our area! I even checked maynilad site and there was  NO news on their water rotational cutoff on certain areas in the metropolis. What a day! We do not have enough water stored for the whole family to use! I am really hoping for rain so that we could have atleast something we could use for flushing :(

I think Maynilad should update their site regularly and put some news for their consumers to check on if their areas would have a water shortage! And tell our baranggay heads that they are going to cut our water supply a day before that so that we can be prepared for it! (and be told beforehand) and store some water that we can use for the whole duration of having our water's cut.

Lead on the Pencil is Not Lead

Pencil lead is not lead at all; it's a combination of finely ground graphite and clay, mixed with water and pressed together at high temperatures into thin rods. We call it lead is because the Englishmen who first discovered graphite believed they had found lead.

Pencil lead is composed primarily of a carbon substance known as graphite. Graphite lead transfers easily to other objects with which it comes into contact. Marks from graphite pencil lead may be erasable on paper, but if you may wonder if they would ever come out of a surface like upholstery, walls or clothes, it can be easily wash off by water and soap.

Gotta Love cake

My share for our thursday brownies today is this cake

I absolutely love Red Ribbon's cake! Our family (and close friends) would always buy the new cake they have when we have to celebrate a birthday or just for a whim! (in this photo my friends and I celebrated Wilmz Birthday) When you had one tatse of it, you'll just have to eat all that cake on your plate and have to have another slice! (diet's ruined but you can always get back on the track tomorrow! hehe)

P-Noy, to quit smoking too?

Republic Act 9211 or the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003, this policy does not really prohibit to stop smoking but only regulates where smokers can smoke and puff to their hearts content.

The Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003, is more precise as to what can be considered a public place.
The IRR also dictates that in enclosed places open to the population, such as public and private workplaces and other areas not stated above (such as malls) owners, proprietors, operators, possessors, managers and administrators are required to establish smoking and non-smoking areas.
The smoking area shall be in an open space or in an area with proper ventilation and far from a non-smoking area
The palace is an enclosed area, right? So I think he would not be allowed to smoke there (maybe outside he can), but the MMDA's "environmental enforcers" would not dare tell our highest ranking official that he's not allowed to smoke inside the Palace wherein our President is a well known chain-smoker. ^^,

But I trust that our President would abide with our policy. I am only hoping that he should limit his smoking because he should be a model for the citizen and smoking is really bad to our health and body.

Maybe if he knows or dating a Young Lady Doctor maybe he'll be persuaded to quit? What do you think? ;)

Beastly Movie

"Beastly" is an edgy teen romance about learning how to see past false surfaces to discover true inner beauty.

Kyle Kingson (Alex Pettyfer) has it all – looks, intelligence, wealth and opportunity – and a wicked cruel streak. Prone to mocking and humiliating "aggressively unattractive" classmates, he zeroes in on Goth classmate
Kendra, inviting her to the school’s extravagant environmental bash. Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen) accepts, and, true to form, Kyle blows her off in a particularly savage fashion. She retaliates by casting a spell that physically transforms him into everything he despises. Enraged by his horrible and unrecognizable appearance he confronts Kendra and learns that the only solution to the curse is to find someone that will love him as he is – a task he considers impossible.
Repulsed by his appearance, Kyle's callous father banishes him to Brooklyn with a sympathetic housekeeper and blind tutor. As Kyle ponders how to overcome the curse and get his old life back, he chances upon a drug addict in the act of killing a threatening dealer. Seizing the opportunity, Kyle promises the addict freedom and safety for his daughter, Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens) if she will consent to live in Kyle's Brooklyn home. Thus begins Kyle's journey to discover true love in this hyper-modern retelling of the classic "Beauty and the Beast" story.

You must watch this movie guys! Alex is so hot! But in the entire movie he looks like this
but the story have a happy ending, just like in the Beauty and the Beast! :)

Since Vanessa Hudgens is the leading lady in this movie, it made me curious on this movie (I like her role in HSM, plus she has Filipino blood! though Sucker Punch did not pull my heartstrings to watch it..the trailer sucks so the movie's title Sucker Punch really matches it ^^)

The movie is good! I'll give it a rating of 2.5/5  ^^,

World No Tobacco Day celebration

Today is the celebration of World No Tobacco Day. Yesterday, The MMDA and 17 Local Government Unit in Manila has started deploying environmental enforcers to warn, and eventually apprehend, violators of the smoking ban in public places.

Dr. Loida Alzona, division chief of MMDA’s public health and safety and environment protection said in an interview on ANC’s “Top Story” on Friday, that the MMDA will be launching an information campaign so that people will know that smoking will be prohibited in certain areas of main roads of the metropolis.

MMDA’s “environmental enforcers” will issue warnings to those who will be caught violating the provisions of Republic Act 9211 or the Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003 for the month of June. Penalties (those who will be caught are to be fined PHP 500 or $11, while those who cannot pay the fine will be made to do community service) will take effect on July.
The smoking area shall be in an open space or in an area with proper ventilation and far from a non-smoking area.
While it supports the smoking ban in areas like schools, hospitals and public facilities, the Philippine Tobacco Institute (PTI) said it is against the smoking ban in major and secondary roads in Metro Manila. PTI argued that the roads are not included in RA 9211's list of prohibited places, and hoped that the MMDA will reconsider its decision to implement the anti-smoking campaign.

Data from the Department of Health (DOH) and the World Health Organization showed that smoking kills.

Why only banned it in certain areas? We had this law since 2003 and they are only enforcing it now?!? Smoking kills people and the worst part is that the non-smokers get second hand smoke and get the brunt of it all! Smokers have died from causes attributed to smoking (including heart disease, emphysema, and other respiratory diseases) and these deaths alone are the result of lung cancer.

How about for the non-smokers? How do you think they died? from heart disease? What’s the cause of it? It’s due to second hand smoking and lifestyle (food they eat and lack of exercise).

I think that we should completely banned smoking (100%), Cigarette smoking is one of the most preventable cause of premature death. So, peepz, love yourselves, stop smoking!

Or maybe the government should give a higher tax for those who are making these cigarettes so that their consumers cannot afford to buy them.

How about you? What do you think?

2ne1 Concert

It's really going to happen :( Confirmed! The popular Korean group, 2NE1 composed of Bom, Minzy, CL and Dara (we know as Sandara Park) will be having concert in Manila on June 4, 2011 at the Araneta Coliseum.

for those who are generous there's someone here who needs a sponsor for the said concert (ahem.. ^^,)

Kid at heart

I noticed that the movies that I watched in the movie theater are all cartoons! hahaha. But I never did regret watching it! All of them made me laugh and even if the cost of watching a movie for over an hour was worth it (but at the back of my mind I would STILL be tempted to buy a pirated CD of the movie! 1 movie ticket = 2-3 pirated movie ^^, maybe that's one of the reasons why eventhough it's illegal there would still be lots of vendors selling pirated CD because its cheaper and a lot of consumers would opt to buy them than buy an original or watch it the movie house)

Here are the movies that I watched with my nephews and had a blast watching them:

1. Tangled - some parts of the movie did ALMOST made me cry. The antics of the horse was hilarious and I have to admit that I did not want to watch the movie because I know the story of Rapunzel what's there to watch? BUt the story is really different from the Fairy Tale's Rapunzel ^^, and I am glad I watch it!

It was funny and a touching story for me :) and the songs were great!

this part of the movie I had to fight for my tears from falling :)

2. Kung Fu Panda 2 - my latest movie date with my nephew, sister and cousin. I watched the first movie and so theres no more urging for me to go and watch it. The movie is great! Some part of it made me really laugh, I think MOST of the part there I laugh and laugh and laugh. The movie revealed Po's past. He has some "DAD issues", he found out that he is adopted! (ha ha ha. Big surprise there! He's a Panda and his dad is a GOOSE) ..guys you really have to watch this movie (I think there would be a part 3 of the movie! Can't wait for them to make it! ^^)

Next movie to watch :

Transformers 3 : Dark of the Moon

The Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft on the Moon and must race against the Decepticons to find it and learn its secrets, which could turn the tide in the Transformers' final battle

Star racecar Lightning McQueen and the incomparable tow truck Mater take their friendship to exciting new places when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world's fastest car. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater's action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.

But we're hoping pixar would make these movies ...
Incredibles 2
Monsters Inc 2

Sandara Park

We are all familiar with the name-- Sandara Park, here in the PHI, she's more known as krung-krung when she's one of the finalist in Star Circle Quest in Abs-cbn. I did not vote for her but she certainly caught my interest at that time. Who would not be? She's a foreigner but she can speak our language and you can feel that she really loves our country. And her love was not in vain, majority of the citizen loved her back. But nowadays she's more known as Dara in 2ne1. We, Filipino's don't get enough news from her since she is now base in korea, and any news from her would be appreciated by us.

I heard that her group 2ne1 would have a concert here at the Araneta Coliseum on June 5. Why oh why on Araneta? It's so far from our house. BUt for the fans, I am sure you're all going, so buy a ticket now while there are still some ticket/s available  :) please post some pictures on that concert! :)

Anyway, after knowing that they would have a concert, I tuned in on myx and learned that VJ Janine and VJ Rob went to Korea and had an interview with Sandara. Here's the interview that I obtained from youtube

Been looking for the second part of the interview but it's not available anymore :(

The interview was so nice! Sandara can still speak Filipino very fluently.
Good Luck Krung-krung!

After watching this commercial, as a fan of red ribbon my curiosity was piqued on how it taste like? If it's as delicious as they look like on TV!
I went to the nearest Red Ribbon in our area and bought just enough for the family to have a tatse.

The taste is like the ensemada that the French Baker have. But in a smaller quantity and cheaper. One Red Ribbon's Yummy Cheese Roll is only Php 24, very affordable! and the taste is okey! But I hope that they would add more cheese :) I love cheese! My overall rating for the food is 4/5.
