The Kitchen Musical

I missed to watch The Kitchen Musical last Saturday and was disappointed that I forgot about it. The series piqued my interest because we have some Filipino talents on that show and I'm curious about the plot story, would it be like GLEE (which I don't really follow that much because I don't like the lead character. I find her singing and acting OA) or would it be way different, how they would execute their singing and dancing while they cook etc.

And I love food and a romantic at heart so maybe I'd learn to like the series since the episodes is quite telling what the story is all about -- heck the title is almost spelled it out to you , that the drama would revolved around the kitchen so we might expect some music, dance, and drama in this story.

I almost, almost blame it to high school musical because after their successful movies all kinds of musical TV series are sprouting. So, yeah, we should stop comparing this series to GLEE since this is way different from GLEE. :) GLEE did not start it all this rage of having a TV series that have some musical numbers on them. Blame it to high school musical. But I really, really fell in love with all the songs in HS musical so for those TV series who would have that kind of thingy I would still give them a chance to show what they got. Anyways, I'm not a GLEE fanatic. :)

Back to KM..

The plot of the story is about a rich young girl who goes to work at her father's famous restaurant The Avilon after graduating from the culinary school Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.

Stephen Rahman Hughes as Alex Marcus, the executive chef of The Avilon, known for his notoriety for perfection.

Christian Bautista as Daniel Ray, a supportive childhood friend of Maddie and the other sous chef of the restaurant.

Arthur Acuña as Harry Shaw, the general manager of The Avilon. He keeps secrets from Maddie on her father's motives for letting her work in the restaurant.

Rosemary Vandenbroucke as Selena Argon, the sommelier of The Avilon who will do everything to get what she wants. She has a deep desire to get rid of Maddie and win Alex's heart.

Supporting characters

  • Juan Jackson as Juan - Line Cook
  • Thou Reyes as Thou - Line Cook
  • Carla Dunareanu - Line Cook
  • Erwin Shah Ismail as Rico - Dishwasher
  • Ikey Canoy as Winston - Pastry Chef
  • Juwanda Hassim as Nelson - Bartender
  • Nadiah M. Din as Britney - Receptionist
  • Oon Shu An as Paula - Receptionist
  • Gayle Nerva as Gayle - Waitress
  • Rebecca Spykerman as Bec - Waitress
  • Debra Teng as Leslie - Head Waitress
I was able to watch the first episode at YouTube. The plot was not that exciting but then again it's just the first episode and we should support this since it's an Asian show and we have Karylle And Christian in this show. :)

I heard that the 13 one-hour long episodes are done already and the second season of the series is already in the process.

I can't wait to grab the full episodes of this series. :)

To all the cast of the series, Congratulations! :)

"NO Other Woman" Review

I was supposed to write about this a week ago but have no idea why I put it off for days. I was busy with inane things. I was one of the viewers who went to the cinema when it was on its first week. I watched it with my younger sister, cousin and the yaya of my nephew and we watched it at the last full show of the day. It was Friday and it was free seating at that time. When we were in line we we're told that it was a standing room already 'coz the house is full but we went in nevertheless. We are there already so we just opted to sit at the stairs. It was a first for me :)

Why did we watched it? Well, I love Anne Curtis! I think she is such a nice person and so would want to support her and the plot made me curious. Anne Curtis, played the role of the other woman on this film.

The film is a tale of a man's journey towards building a career and a family that he can competently provide for, but along the way, his ambition and reputation are tarnished by a single adulterous act. So, it mainly focus Derek's role in this film as the man who sinned and why he did it.

As of this posting, No Other Woman, breaks record and breached the P210 million mark in two weeks and still raking in at the box-office to be the number one. And I think it was worth it watching it. ^___^

I think everyone can relate to the story. In every marriage, one would really be tempted to taste a bit of a sin. Why? We are human after all. We are weak and we are all a sinners. The Husband, the wife and the other woman role fits perfectly and I think all of them made the film a success with the way they act their role!

I don't want to be a spoiler so I would not say anything on what happened or the plot of the story. I highly recommend that you should watch it. Kudos to the director! The movie was quite good. :)

Nars Life

When you see a nurse what do you think of them? An angel that God made to make your relatives life comfortable and someone that would take care of them? Or just another human that are paid to take care of you or your relative? A slave? Or just someone doing their task/job?

They would appear to you in a white uniform or scrub..our uniform pertains that we are there to do our job with honor. But you see, all of that is a sham. Life in a hospital is crap. Yes, it's a thankless job and we may be fulfilled that at the end of the day we help someones lives or save a life. But imagine, we are there amidst with all the sufferings and it takes a toll in our hearts  and souls. It sucks the happiness out of our system.

Yes, we are there to do our Job and as we pledge in our profession that we would save lives but we ALL are not that prepared that life in a hospital is pure chaos. :)

Before you yell at your nurse because they did not bring your medicine on time or you need to go to the bathroom or need your medications you should think first that you are not the only patient in this world. He/she may have a lot of patients on her shift. He/she is doing all he/she can do and do his/her task and some of them are not paid at all or his/her salary is not that enough. So, before you talk think first.

_______

In months time there would be another new batches of nurses and yes they would be unemployed..ahhh another batches of beguiled human beings. We should have read a nurses guide after PASSING the BOARD.

Choices to be filled: Call center agent, caregiver, nursing assistant, bank teller, trainee, volunteer!!!

Reality bites big time and yes, I'm one of them. Another gullible soul. I tried to be a volunteer but it really was not made for me. I'm not tailored for it. Imagine having 30 patients per day and deaths. Found out I can't handle deaths. Had a patients that I just looked at him, a three month old infant and he died. :( and to top it off was working with no pay! I realized I can never ever be a martyr!

And I talked back. My Mom was mad at me after telling her that I told someone that if she can't wait then go to a private hospital if she preferred a VIP treatment. Well, I was at the OPD at that time and there was this elegantly dressed lady and asked if they would be first in line because her helper's child vomited a live worm day before and was injected with a medicine yesterday at the ER and was told to go to the OPD and have a doctor see the child. The child was not with them but would just want the doctor to give them a medicine. I told them that the child needs to be seen so that the doctor can further asses what proper medicine would be best for the child. She the told me off to STOP speaking in tagalog because I'm in the province and just say it in the local dialect. Well, it made me MAD, I instead speak in English because she was talking to me in English when telling me to talk to her in our dialect. It was a proper thing to do after all, right? (I was brought up that if someone speaks in English the respond in English) Told her that I was used talking in Tagalog and said that she would have to wait for her number to be called. Her Doctor friend is not there and I don't know what medicine would be given since the child needs to be seen and if she needs to be treated like a VIP then she needs to go to a private hospital since we are in a government hospital so ALL would be treated equally.

Well, it was hilarious now remembering that but it just made the bitch in me to go out. If she were nicer I could have put her first in line because patients have no idea what is their number ;)

So, Please peepz, be nice to your health care provider! :)

Pnoy decide no state burial for Marcos

President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III has spoken: there will be no state honors for former president Ferdinand Marcos despite recommendations from Vice President Jejomar Binay.
Speaking before foreign correspondents, Aquino stressed rendering honors for Marcos would be "the height of injustice" for human rights victims during the martial law era.

"It would be really, I think, the height of injustice to render any honors to the person who was the direct mastermind of all their suffering," Aquino said Wednesday.
Aquino said he has yet to communicate this decision to Binay who earlier recommended military honors in lieu of a Libingan ng mga Bayani burial for Marcos.

"With regards to the Marcos burial, you know, in all honesty—and I think I will have to communicate this to the Vice President, I apologize, he’s been doing the study on my behalf; he had a recommendation--and it was recently called to my attention again, we have so many victims of the Martial Law years, who have not gotten even a recognition formally from this government, from our government and they were victims," Aquino said.
Meanwhile, Binay said he is respecting the President's decision.

"It is the prerogative of the President and we must all accept, respect and support his decision," said Binay in a separate statement.

_________

Me Thinks...

President Aquino should have just agreed with what Vice President Binay's recommendation. Yes, Former President Marcos did a lot of things that are against our Laws and Norms so I totally agreed that he should not be buried in "Libingan ng mga Bayani" (National Heroes Cemetery). A lot of the citizen would rally about that and some of the victims during his regime would not find it right. I think he would rest in peace if he is buried in Ilocos Norte wherein his people still believes in him and loves him there. That would be alright.

But he should at least be given military honors since he is a Former President. He should be given honors and respect as a former President of our country. He may have appear as a monster to some Filipino but we should also look at the facts that during his reign he made the Philippines known throughout the world. His projects are brilliant and until now some of the bridges, building and roads are still being in use because all the materials are quite good and "hindi minadali at tinipid!"

Remember Former Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes burial issues? He was buried in Libingan ng mga Bayani and was buried with military honors. He committed suicide because of the controversy he was buried up into his neck of the rampant corruption in the AFP. He should not have been buried in that cemetery because he died with questionable honor if he is guilty or not. It just made all that act hilarious and made all our national heroes be buried with a corrupt official.

I know that with power there would be a lot of temptations and one might be corrupted and Former President Marcos succumb to that and so made a lot of things that made him so hateful. Such a pity! All that brilliance gone to waste!

I know I don't have a lot of say on this matter since I'm just a lowly citizen and all decisions on that matter rest to our President but he should have just say so at the beginning that this is his decision on Marcos burial. He only made Binay make those recommendations so that he won't be accused as biased. But then again all of this are all pure politics! But with all of this matter it also made it so showbiz!

Politicians should just have been direct to the point! State some facts! "yun wala nang paligoy ligoy pa!" Be firm on their decisions and live with it.

Just adding my two cents on this issue ^_______^

Happy Teacher's Day

It's the time of the year again wherein we give tributes to our teachers! Happy Teacher's Day! :)

By Presidential Proclamation No. 479  to honor more than 500,000 teachers nationwide. However, in the Philippines Teachers' Day is actually celebrated in schools between the months of September and October (mainly elementary and secondary levels). Teachers are presented with orchid corsages by students. Groups of students representing various grade levels perform short skits or song and dance numbers, or read poetry for their teachers in front of fellow schoolmates in school-wide activities. These activities are planned by senior students in the Student Council who coordinate the activities well in advance.

For Filipino-Chinese schools, a program is usually organized by students for teachers on September 27, while September 28, considered as the actual Teachers' Day, is a school holiday where both teachers and students are allowed to rest. September 28 was chosen because it is known as the birthday of famous Chinese philosopher Confucius.

----------

Education. That's a big word in our household. My Paternal Grandmother and Grandfather are both an educator/teacher, my mother is a teacher and one of my sister is also now a teacher. :) Education, at an early age it was ingrained in us to do good in school, respect your teacher and have fun. And as a fourth child there are some expectations that I would also be as bright as my elder sisters and of course it would bring shame on the family if I failed even one subject. :)

Going to school is fun! I missed it! :) yes,  even cramming for exam! Now if we have meet ups one of the topics would be our time in school and of course which teachers you like and hate! :) Hate is such a strong word so I'd just use the word dislike. We have a teacher that we totally avoid sitting at the front because we don't want to have spit on our face, a cry baby teacher (yes, during my junior year we have a teacher that cried because some of my classmates were very unruly and noisy. She's a newbie so I guess it would be stressful for her but unlucky her we were teenagers that time so some are quite rebellious), a teacher that gives chips for a recitation and those chips would be counted as your participation in class a.k.a your recitation, boring teacher ( a teacher who would make you so sleepy), cool teacher (open notes during exam!)
Today, I am reminiscing my school days and made me wonder how my old teachers are doing now. I really appreciate them for what they did even if back then I used to hate it when they give us piles of homework to do. :)

So, today greet your teacher a happy day and just for this day, please behave! :)

Pedring

I love it when it's raining because that would mean we'll get a break from a very scourging hot weather. Storms doesn't scare me that much since our country have been visited by lots of storm every year but yesterday I was scared. Typhoon Pedring or Typhoon Nesat made a very very lasting impression on moi.

The typhoon is different from the previous storms we had. It's not like Ondoy. Pedring may not have brought with him heavy rains but with a storm that is so windy fazed me. It made me worry of flying rooftops and  yes, it did happened! Our neighbor's rooftop was blown into our backyard. It almost made me go to our neighbor's tenant and tell them that part of their rooftop was in our backyard and tell them that they have been told to put stones on top of it but they did not it hence some part of it was flown into our lawn which is very dangerous at this time! (Our neighbor's house old house was demolished because they want to build a new house. So, for the mean time they have a caretaker watching over their land. And what scares me was that there was lots of debris that will get blown when the storm hit us. And what do you know? it did happened!) What if it hit something? Like our windows or worse one of us might be hit? But I restrain myself. I don't want to be bitchy at a time wherein weather is so bad.

With the storm and all, nothing would drive you crazy with kids that are bored! :))

My nephews, are a rowdy kind :) One whine that he's so bored and nothing to do while the other wants to watch his fave show but we have no cable and Internet connection! Thank God our electricity and water was not cut! :) To make them busy they played all day with their toys. While we adults just chat and sleep! :)

A Billboard was blown off during the storm along Buendia-Mayapis Highway.

Typhoon Pedring I think was just another wake up call for us to take care of our environment. We as steward  should start taking care of our environment, stop throwing garbage and start planting trees!

Shamcey may not have won the crown but she's still the winner for me

Miss Shamcey Supsup, the Filipino's bet for the Miss Universe 2011 was the 3rd runner-up winner! Congratulations, Shamcey! You made us all proud!

Some of our citizens were indignant that she should have been the winner or the 1st runner-up because she's the only one who did not need an interpreter during the Q and A. Thus, she answered the questions without having the luxury like her other contender to think a few seconds while their interpreter rely the question on their own tongue. While others think that Ms. Lea Salonga's question were asked a hundred of times already in beauty pageants. So, thought that Miss Angola's answering the question beautifully is not that tough.

We should just be happy about the result! We should stop thinking that it's not fair that we could have won the crown. Anyway it's done already and we can't really do nothing about it. Just let it go. Being a 3rd runner-up is an honor. :)

We should just be happy for Miss Angola. Her People must be jubilant about it. After she won I was curious where it is. I never heard about it. Angola is in Africa and we all know the situation in Africa. Winning the crown would boost her people's pride and maybe their economy..I think a lot of people were like me wondering where is Angola and made them curious of the people there. Congrats, Miss Angola for winning the crown! :)

Yes, the question might be a asked a thousand times but YOU were not the contestant, YOU were not the one on stage answering the question so just put a lid on it! I am satisfied with Miss Angola's answer and she did it beautifully.

Let's just be happy about the result and get over it. Miss Supsup is a winner! While waiting for the result I was happy that Miss Philippine is the only one who does not need an interpreter and that alone showed that we Filipino's are not only beautiful but also have brains. English as a second language is a feat already and answering a question without any hesitation shows that Filipino's can compete with other nationalities that use English as their primary language.

So, let's all just be satisfied with the result! :)

Break a leg Shamcey!

Just a few more hours and we'll be able to watch Miss Universe 2011. Of course, I would be rooting for Miss Philippines to win the crown! :)

When I was young I was awed with all the contestant and thought that they sure all all dolled up and so pretty and it would be really cool if you would reign all over your competitors :)

It's a professional brawl over beauty and brains and if you win hurrah for you and your country :)

Philippines have always been well represented and it sure bring such pride when you watch our own contestant strutting and answering questions with wit. What a major major goal for our country if we win the crown this year.

But what does it really mean for us if we do win? why watch it? we won't get anything from it or get paid. What really made me watch this pageant are:

1. cheer for our own
2. love to know/watch Q and A
3. I heard Lea Salonga is one of the Judges and I love her! I'm a fan!

but above all else just watch it.. and feel our Filipino Pride :) Let's just support our own. If we win then it would bring an honor for our country, it would boost our tourism and it would make people more curious in our country. And if we don't win it, it's ok! Having our own contestant there is enough and it's an honor already for being one of the contestant.

To Miss Shamcey Supsup, Good luck! Hope you win tomorrow! :)

Happy Being Single

I am comfortable of being single at the moment but weeks ago it made me think hard and ponder on things. It's all thanks to my younger sis! aggh!

Things that made me question my stat:

1. Was asked if I'm still carrying a torch for Mr. Ex? I'm so over him. It was eons years ago! Hello! OK. I can still -- think/s all the lovely things he did but I have trouble picturing his image on my mind.OK I admit that every time that I have suitors I would compare them to him [Hoping that he would go to the wet market for me -->> wet market totally gross me out. Have to scrub my feet because of the yucky goo I got from trekking from the aisles of buying wares from going to and fro stall to stall. He would be God fearing, the sweetest BF you have that would give you things you want and of course is totally deeply in love with moi].

2. I don't know what to feel that when I posted on my FB account my shout out was "I'm so happy today!" my sister and friends have a common comments on my stat that they are happy for me, Is it a new love life?, Do I have a boyfriend?

I don't know why people would assume that a MAN or having a BOYFRIEND would make me happy. Happiness does not revolve on just being in a relationship. I would love to have one but I still am looking for my other half.

I was happy because I have news that I'm going to have my own laptop this coming December! Yay! Typing on my old PC makes me so frustrated (so slow!) I know my fellow blogger would also be happy if they are in my shoes. Having your own laptop and not borrowing would be PURE BLISS! :)

3. Getting questions on when will I settle down? Every time I go home to our hometown old peepz would ask me when will I marry? There are some perks in growing up in a small hometown, you know everybody and know you won't be rob blindly at night BUT the downside of it is that -- Everybody also knows your business and tend to be a tad curious on what you are up to.

Did Mr. Right passed me by and I wasn't aware?

Maybe Mr. Right have knocked on my door but it's his loss! hahaha. I am not afraid if I'll be a spinster! It's OK. If I am fated to be one then so be it! No hard feelings :)

Stat: Complicated

OK. If I have to put a label on my stat on my current relationship now is that it is complicated! Well, He's abroad and I am not that too hopeful to have that kind of a relationship. Long distance relationship does not work! (that's what happened on my last rel) so I don't want to gamble and I am just a simple person that just go with the flow :)

I like him but that's just it! LIKE not LOVE. I want to fall in love. I'm a hopeless romantic! So, MR. X, If you're reading this you've got to stick to your guns and woo me! You must be doing it right because I like you..really really like you :)

Gramp's and Granny's Day!

Today is Grandparents Day! For all the Gramps and Granny's out there, I am sending you my greetings: Happy Grandparents Day!

Gawd! I suddenly miss my Grandma (Maternal side). Inay,as we fondly call her passed away two years ago. Until now I still miss her. Part of me was glad that she's finally at peace and with God but half of my heart have not yet accepted her death..It's still too darn early! She should have been there when I walk down the aisle and have kids of my own. Goodbye is really the saddest word I'd ever hear/say specially someone close to you. I know that we only have borrowed time here in this earth and we all die but then again I really really miss her. She was the one who took care of me when Mama and Papa goes to work and even though I am not her fave grandchild I love her.

So, Inay, wherever you are. I love you and Happy Grandparents Day!

Things that I'd like to get my thoughts across the world wide web

1. P-Noy

I was really sad when the victims and their families of the Manila Hostage Crisis left the Philippines and our dear President did not apologize for the said incident.

All he had to do is say, "I am sorry". That's it! It's not that hard. And even though he said that they already said it once or twice it does not matter at all. Is saying sorry that hard?

The whole incident was shown in History channel already. Watched it twice and every time I watched it it made me feel ashamed for my country. Our National Police does not know what to do and even the so called SWAT team that we have have no idea at all on what to do even if they said and shown it on TV on what they are going to do.

And since you Mr. President is the high ranking official in our country you should just say sorry and maybe ..really do something about it! Heads should roll after the incident and nothing came out of it. You should have fire some people from their post for being incompetent on their job. Hire someone that might train our people if such thing happen again.

I feel sad and sorry for them. TO ALL THE CHINESE CITIZEN IN CHINA AND THE HOSTAGE VICTIMS AND FAMILY. I, would like to say, " I am sorry for what you have been through. Please, don't hate us."

2. Dengue Outbreak

Yes, we all know the same old news that dengue outbreak is here again. It's really not that new. It's rainy season so peeps don't be shocked. Dengue is on the rise again.

Checked this site to know more about dengue.

All things should start in our own LOT/Home. We should not rely on our health officials on this matter. We should clean our surroundings. This should be the whole village/baranggay's project. After all we our own health is at risk here.

3. Ms. Universe

Good Luck Ms. Shamcey Supsup

At long last! I'm here again!

I miss you guys! Sorry wasn't able to log in, blog hop and update my site. My sister's laptop is having some problems and it's been so long since I log in so I opted to go to the nearest Internet shop :) just to blog! hahaha

I did not risk it earlier because

1. I do not like the idea of spending money wherein the connection is so slow

2. I've heard that some net shop had some holdups --- but then again I don't have a lot of money in my pocket so I risk it today ;)

-------------------------------------

To Reese! Thank you for giving me an award!

She gave me this award!

I'm so happy that I was given twice of the said award! Blogging opened some doors (and windows) for me : made me a writer, gain some friends and earn extra income ;)

To Reese and Tin, Thank you!

I'm suppose to hand over this award to bloggers too :) It's not that hard since I love all my fellow bloggers and I totally support and follow their post whenever I'm online :)

Mike
Chloe
Palakanton
I'm Only Sleeping
Berry
Mirage

And of course, I would also want to give back the award to Reese and Tin! You should receive lots of this because your blog is good (great actually!) and I really love to read your insights on things that you are so passionate about :)

To show gratitude and acknowledgement, anybody who received this award should  link back to the one who gave it to her and be generous enough  to  pass it along.

'Apes' strong opening brings talk of sequel

There haven't been any official conversations. But after the big "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" opening last weekend, the movie's writer/producers not only expect a sequel or two -- they are prepared for them.

Wow! Can't wait for it! I enjoyed the movie very much even if I were alone. My sibling were all into Captain America so I have to watch the Apes alone :) Watching it alone was weird. But had a blast watching it!

But the producers are not 100% sure if they will have a sequel they are still on the "wait and see" mode :)

But if ever they are working on a sequel that's good and if there won't be a sequel that's OK since I am satisfied with the movie. Sequels tend to be a disappointment and the first one would always give you the strongest impression and the sequels would have a harder time to beat that.

The only movie series that I like are: Toy Story (love them from 1-3)

Movies with sequels that I don't like: Cars (I am sorry but I was not satisfied with Cars 2), Hang Over (hang over 2 -- don't like it. seems like the same old joke been repeated again and again).

Zombie on the rise!

I've been tired of reading on werewolf and vampires already and surprisingly I got hooked by reading about zombies! Brian Keene's The Rising and City of the Dead really made me hang on and read the book. The plot had some humor on it but it was so intensely action packed so it made me hang on to it until the end of the story. Sadly all humans died in the end, I was hoping he'd make another book that made the humans the victor on that war.

Brad Pitt stars in  and is producing the thriller "World War Z" on December 21, Paramount studio announced Tuesday.

The movie is about a tough-guy United Nations employee, played by Pitt, who travels the world in an effort to stop a zombie pandemic that is destroying humanity

The ambitious script was written by Matthew Michael Carnahan ("State of Play"), who adapted it from Max Brooks' best-selling novel "World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War." Marc Forster is directing.

In addition to Pitt, the movie stars Mireille Enos ("The Killing"), James Badge Dale ("The Departed"), Matthew Fox ("Lost") and newcomer Daniella Kertesz.

Pitt is producing with Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Colin Wilson.

I have World war Z but it made me bored. The book was mostly the interviews done with the survivors, their experience when the outbreak occurs and so on. I am already halfway on it and I don't know if I'll continue reading it. It does not have a grip on my heart string to read the book thoroughly like what I did with The Rising and City of the Dead.

So, I am really glad that Pitt have this movie and I am really looking forward for it! Vampires and Werewolves are so yesterday! :)

Well-wishes, jeers for ailing GMA

MANILA, Philippines – Netizens took to social networking site Facebook and microblogging site Twitter to express their reactions to former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's health condition.

Arroyo was scheduled to undergo revision surgery Wednesday morning at St. Luke’s Medical Center Taguig after the implant placed in her spine was dislodged.

However, the surgery was held off after doctors found an infection.
The news elicited mixed reactions on the Internet.

On Twitter, user weegkid tweeted: “Please pray for GMA...unsuccessful surgery daw...kawawa naman.”

Twitter user welmans14 said, “Hindi natin maalis sa isipan na baka binabalikan na siya sa mga nagawa niyang hindi mabuti. Pero tao pa rin siya, ipagdasal na lang natin.”

On Facebook, Romano Lara said, “It's the bad deeds that we're after, not her. We should be hoping for Mrs. Arroyo's speedy recovery and safety.”

Glen Tubosa Fulgencio said: Pagaling po agad siya. Para matiwasay at malakas siyang sasagot sa mga akusasyong ibinibintang sa kanya.Delaying tactics?

However, while some showed compassion for the former President, others expressed dismay over the news that Arroyo would need to spend more time in the hospital.

Paris Imshi on Facebook said: “Delaying tactics lang yan para makalimutan ang totoong issue ng kanyang corruption. We must stay vigilant and pursue justice.”

User trshsnvctrs tweeted: “Do you believe the whole GMA's operation wasn't successful drama?! What's next, it can't be done in the Phils and she has to fly abroad?!”

User rhod_reyes tweeted: “Very timing naman ang infection ni GMA. Sana lang hindi nagpapagamit ang mga doctors kay Arroyo para makaiwas sa investigation.”

“Ok lang as long as hindi siya makakalabas ng bansa. After operation, she has to face all the charges against her,” tweeted deLO1022.

It was former First Gentleman Mike Arroyo who first broke the news that her wife’s surgery was unsuccessful.

"It was not successful. When they opened it, they saw there was an infection so she will rest for 3 weeks then they will operate on her again," he said.
Arroyo’s attending physician Dr. Juliet Cervantes said the infection would have to be treated before she can undergo another surgery.

According to Cervantes, Arroyo’s vital signs are normal, and she will be transferred to the Coronary Care Unit for continued monitoring. She is able to move, but she needs to wear a neck brace.
Meanwhile, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima confirmed Wednesday the issuance of a watch-list order against the former president.

De Lima said the watch-list order stays despite Arroyo’s condition.

"Pangit naman kasi na i-uurong ko na muna, then reissue that [later]. At this point, I'm not inclined to do that. Yang pagbalik niya sa hospital, that's just temporary, I think. And anytime, pwede naman siyang makalabas na rin ng hospital," de Lima said.

---------------------

We should pray for her recovery. Yes, she did bad deeds but she is still a human being so let's pray for her recovery. It's not a delaying tactic people. Her operation is on the cervical so it's a risky operation. And really, before doing an operation all must be in good condition so if there's an infection then it must be treated first. If not, if you go on with the operation then we won't have a 100 % successful operation and MOST hospital wont risk it. We are talking about a life here. Heath care practitioners doest not look on people whether they are a good or bad person in life. WE SAVE LIVES. So, we are PRO-Life.

Let's just pray for her and if she recovers from this then she can answer all our queries.

Safe Heathcare in the PHI

I was browsing through a forum and one caught my attention.

There was this pregnant woman and was afraid that she might have blood transfusion and have CS on her delivery date when she was told by her doctor that she might be having those. What irked me was when she was asking for an advise on the members because she's afraid to have CS and have BT transfusion because she does not trust health care practitioner here in the Philippines.

It really made my blood boil. WE HAVE GOOD HEALTH CARE PRACTITIONERS IN THE PHILIPPINES!!! Gawd! Yes, we don't have the up to date technologies like what our western brethren have but we don't have materials that we used to have eons ago! Our doctors and nurses are well trained and yes, it's true that you might be under a "trainee's" hand but our seniors and instructors are around.

It's safe to have BT and CS here for Christ sake!

BT, she said she's afraid to have one because she read somewhere that one got a HIV due to BT. Well, for those who had BT during the 70's yes they might have got one BUT now we screen does who donated their blood and we also do cross checking before giving the blood transfusion.

CS, again, don't be afraid to have CS. We have trained doctors to do that. I don't know..maybe for all we know she's from a far flung town BUT she has access to the Internet so I doubt it. Public hospitals are OK. The doctors are well trained since they got several cases thrown on their way day to day so they are more experience than those in the private hospital.

She might be scared because there are news on TV but then again don't believe anything you see on TV. News tend to sensationalize and hence make a news too exaggerated than what really happened.

For mothers out there. I know that giving birth would scared you but please trust your health care practitioners in your areas. We don't live in the middle era anymore so we don't use crude materials. WE are OK, not too modern like what you see on TV series (How we wish that we have that too but they are way too expensive and most hospitals can't afford that. The only hospitals that have that kind of equipments are St. Lukes, Makati med, Medical City and those hospitals are way too expensive for an average citizen). We have equipments and they are maybe what the Americans were using 5-10 years ago but then again it helps lives, right? that's all that matters. We can't be abreast with what modern hospitals in the US are using but we have good doctors to help you and for me that all that matters.

So, please -- have faith! We do what we can do -- Saving lives and all we ask is for you to trust us :)

Metallic Money

Do we really need credit card? I never felt the need to have one. I think having a credit card would just make me spend more than I have on my pocket so I never felt in to the urge and join the bandwagon.

That's why I never felt any sympathy to those who had some back credits and have debts up to their ears. I mean, how could they have spent so much money wherein they knew they can never afford in buying things in the first place? They should have save first then buy things they like or just use their credit card where they knew they can be able to afford to pay back in time and not let the interest piled up. cousin told me that a friend of hers is on a "hiding" mode because her creditors are knocking and are asking for her payments and those payments are the interest she failed to pay up and until now it would just go up. I think that both her and the creditors are at fault. The creditors should not add up the interest and should have known her limits (how much money she can afford to owe and how much she can pay) and she should have been responsible enough to pay her dues.

Vice President Jejomar Binay, who was tasked by President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino to submit a recommendation about the matter months back, said the Marcos family already agreed to an Ilocos Norte burial.

"Pumayag na ang Marcos family na sa Ilocos ilibing si dating Pangulong Marcos," Binay said in a statement Tuesday.

The much-delayed burial might also happen anytime soon.

"Yong ikalawang part (military honors) na lang yung dapat nating plantsahin at malapit nang mangyari ‘yon," said Binay.

As for the Marcos family, Senator Bongbong Marcos said they have yet to receive "official communication" from Malacanang.

"The family has not received any word from Noynoy about it so the family has nothing to react to. But we are always open to any compromise, proposals," the Senator said.

Joey Salgado, Binay's spokesman, had said the Marcos family "did not object" to an Ilocos burial, even before the recommendation to Aquino was made.

Salgado said there were representatives from the Marcos family during the negotiations.

Marcos died in Hawaii on September 28, 1989 due to kidney failure. His body was returned to the Philippines in 1993, almost a decade after his ouster.

His embalmed corpse is still in a mausoleum in Batac, Ilocos Norte.
_________

When we went to where Former President Marcos was laid to rest.. It gave me goosebumps while we were there. He is in a glass casket and I was afraid that any minute now he would rise and be a mummy! (We were staying at an Inn in Vigan and I was afraid that a ghost would hunt me and so my paranoia was in a high mode and them we went to Marcos burial place and whoa!) It was really creepy!

I think it does not really matter where he should be buried. He needs to be buried in order for his soul to rest. And his family should put their dreams of having him buried in the "Libingan ng mga bayani"(Cemetery for our National Heroes) as dreams because it would never happen. If he was buried there I think that would caused an upheaval in the citizen and even though P-Noy made Binay to have some sort of a decision on where he should be buried we all know that he will not really make his Father's enemy (and it was speculated long ago that the master mind of Ninoy's assassination is Marcos himself or his wife, Imelda) be buried on heroes burial place.

I think it would be more appropriate for him to be buried in Ilocos since his people love him and his family so much and until now are loyal to the Marcos Family. Some of my Family are Marcos supporters and even though he was corrupt he did made some great project and until now we are still using them. The roads, bridges and buildings during his reign are still sturdy. He may be corrupt but he is a very affective leader. If he was not greedy I think our country would have been more prosperous now.

With all this talk and debate on where he should be buried I think it does not matter. I think Marcos Family would only want to have him buried in the Libingan ng mga Bayani as a matter of pride.

His family should just let it go and just bury him in Ilocos.

NO Heroes Welcome for Philippine Dragon Boat Federation

On the news last night, Senate and the Congress will investigate why the Philippine Sports Commission will not give incentive and Heroes welcome for the Pinoy paddlers  (Philippine Dragon Boat Federation) because they are not part of the national team.

I feel sad for them and annoyed that they brought glory for the country and their hard work was just dismissed just because they are not part of the national team! For me, even though they are not part of the national team or even if they are not given incentives then as Filipino's who played and won medals and made other countries praising them for winning, then I think we should have given them a Hero's Welcome. I think all they want is for the whole nation to acknowledge them as a good team and a team that would carry our flag and win games under our flag.

It's sad that Philippine Sports Commission is underfunded and were not able to fund our players and so are not able to be trained on their full potential which always make us not win a gold medal during the Olympics.

I for one would like to see a Filipino winning a gold/silver/bronze and bringing it to our homeland would bring honor to our nation. I would even cheer for them. Why can't we give this team an honor of acknowledging their win on that race?

We cheered for the Azkals but majority of the team are not even Filipino! I think the Pinoy Paddlers ( Philippine Dragon Boat Federation) deserve more of our cheers than them.

Art is art

I know this is a bit tad too late because it's in the news when the church reacted to Mideo Cruz arts being shown at CCP a week ago but I've only known about it when I watch a replay of XXX @ ANC channel. And my only excuse is that I was way too focus and worried by the storm when the news was aired.

While watching it my first reaction was, what the heck was he thinking? I felt outrage pouring out on every cell in my body. Yes, it was sacrilegious for the Christians and when I saw a condom attached at the top of a crucifix one would think why? Is this art? And posters of celebrities/idols and other clippings beside Jesus Christ is just so wrong.

Jesus Christ and Mama Mary have been dear and we hold them sacred on a Christian's point of view and seeing such kind of art is like an insult for all of us. Majority of Filipino's are Roman Catholic and hanging such kind of art would really pissed us. And one would think that if he used one of the things that the Muslim's hold dear he won't be alive now, so I don't really blame the church for calling out to the people to boycott the exhibit.

Archbishop Oscar Cruz said, “It is not only sick, it is also sickening. Binabastos mo ‘yung pananampalataya ng iba (you insulted the faith of others. No one in his right mind with the proper value system would even think of doing such things. I wonder if those who did those desecration's would allow me to do those things to them.”

Mideo Cruz, a performance and mixed media artist, whose art has been featured in exhibits in Switzerland, Italy, and the United States, however, dismissed the criticism as inevitable. “Hindi mo maiiwasan na kapag nagpo-provoke ka o naglalabas ka ng ideya, e may mga tatamaan (When you provoke someone or you introduce an idea, you can’t avoid affecting some people negatively),” he said. Cruz added that he has been receiving death threats because of his controversial style.

I was really angry upon seeing that kind of art because it simply made my blood boil. It was really insulting and yes sacrilegious, and it made my heart ache when I saw it (it almost made me cry!).

But after a day I watch it again and search in the net what's the artist point of view and answer the "whys" on my head. (Why he did it? Why use symbolic items that the Christians use? etc)

The art is about "Sanctification".

In "Sanctification," Cruz wants us think more deeply about the objects of our idolatry. What is the nature of our gods? Why are they worthy of our love? Is it possible to be tricked into belief? Does faith evolve into something transcendent, or does it mask a relationship founded on deceit? If we are defined by the things we worship, what kind of creatures are we? These are just a few of the questions that "Sanctification" provokes.

So, after reading that, and reading a lot of articles that had Mideo Cruz input/interview. I looked at his "art" again and made me think deeper on what the artist is trying to convey. Artist are really hard to ponder huh? After I looked and looked I finally saw what his art is all about. One should look not at the surface but on the deeper aspect of what the art is about.

After much musing it made me wonder why do we really put so much and adore Jesus and Mama Mary pictures and Images? We could just commune to God in a heart to heart basis after all. The first Commandment says, "You shall not have other god beside me". So, if we do and pray on things then maybe that is idolatry?

My faith to God is still strong after that and actually the art made me think why do we really put people (Celebrities/political figures) on pedestal? We should put God first above all things. And really during Christmas Season we are all so into Santa Clause and forget that it's all about Jesus Birth and on Easter Season we forgot that it's not the Easter Bunny but Jesus Christ sacrifice for our sins.

So, instead of pouring out our anger we should think and see things in a clearer picture. I do feel for you. I was also angry (like you) but after much reflection its just art after all. There's a bad art and good art. Classy, crude, crass art. There are different types of art. And Cruz Art might have irked us but it's art. Let's just let it go.

Catholic lay groups threaten to sue CCP over controversial artworks
By Caroline J. Howard, ANC

MANILA, Philippines - Various Catholic lay groups threatened to take legal action against the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) if its controversial exhibit is not closed before 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Atty. Jo Imbong, executive director of the St. Thomas More Society Inc., said they may file charges against the CCP for violating Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code, which penalizes the exhibition of offensive material.

"There is a provision in the Penal Code which penalizes the exhibition of works which offend religion. That might be one possibility. Or a civil suit which requires the closure of the exhibit," Imbong said on ANC's "The Rundown" on Tuesday.

"What we have done so far is give notice to the CCP through president Dr. Raul Sunico and gave him 48 hours to close the exhibit. I spoke to him and he promised to promptly act on our letter."
The works fanning controversy are images of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary which were adorned with objects not related to Christianity -- from a crucifix with a wooden penis to a Christ the King figurine with rabbit ears.

These are part of an exhibit titled "Kulo," which features works of some 30 artists from the University of Santo Tomas (UST). They proposed the exhibit, which was launched on June 17, in line with the institution's 400th anniversary.

"Apparently, the use of Christ's image, Christ's face, the rosary, the crucifix and interspersing it with the male organ, broken crucifixes piercing the eyes and forehead of Christ...the message that's delivered here is one of mockery and vandalism that hurts the sensibilities of the Christian community," Imbong said.

Imbong said those who have visited the exhibit, which is open to the public, have called "Kulo" an "insult to their faith."

She added that even some of CCP's staff "were revolted by it."

"The role of the CCPCCP is supposed to foster? Are we going to be proud of what destroys revered symbols? That's not Filipino at all and that is contrary to the mandate of CCP," she said.

'Legitimate' art

CCP chairperson Emily Abrera, however, stands by the legitimacy of the exhibit, saying that it promotes intelligent debate.

"We see nothing wrong with the works, exhibit," she said.

"I don't know if they've viewed the entire exhibit. Mr. Medeo Cruz's installation is one of the 32 artists and I think we should take it as part of the exhibit. This is part of the dialogue of the discourse, part of social community. Not all art is for aesthetic purposes...and that is the context from which the exhibit must be taken.

"It is part of our culture to question, it is part of our culture to seek answers, to look behind the surface and dig out what our real values are. This is a time for questioning for many."

While art is, after all, a form of expression, Imbong maintained that such expression has its limits and that artists have a social responsibility.

"Unlike any other form of speech, (art) has its limits. It is not absolute. The law admonishes respect of the belief of others," she said.

The CCP, meanwhile, will hold a public forum on the exhibit at its main gallery on August 5 from 2 to 5 p.m. as a result of the incident.

Educators, representatives of religious organizations, art practitioners and experts on culture and law are invited to take part in the discussion.

P.O.V

With sheer audacity, one would wonder if Cruz gutsy stunt in provoking traditionalist in our midst is an insane gesture or just want to share his artistic view to the whole nation. We cannot deny that majority of us is still in shackles and bondage with the rules of etiquette and the church would always be there to voice out reasons if they think what we stand for would led us astray from the path of goodness.

But what about our individual rights? We live in a democratic country and I hope that each one of us would be free to live like our Americans brethren. I really respect the church but there are also limits that they have no say at all. ( I am talking about the RH bill. For me, it's the right of the people to have this bill approved because there are a lot of weigh on the health sectors that would benefit us. Get real peepz! OK. Abstinence is OK and great for some peepz to be on that genre but not ALL of the citizens are practicing that! So, please, we really need the RH bill to be approved).

A church that doesn't discriminate on your personal beliefs as you have had a relationship with Christ, and doesn't shoved things down your throat, is a Good Church to me at least.

This is a really sensitive issues but then again lets just leave them. Art is art. We all have different perspective and let's just respect each others point of view.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes

I'd like to watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It seems interesting to me. The plot made me curious on what would happen, how would the humans deal with the revolt being lead by intelligent apes and how would the humans solve the problem.

Here's the Summary of the film:

Will Rodman (James Franco) is a scientist, currently residing in San Francisco, who is working on a cure for Alzheimer;s Disease by performing tests on apes. The first test subject is a chimpanzee, named Caesar (Andy Serkis), whose parents had been captured in Africa. Rodman's "cure" genetically modifies Caesar's way of thinking to create a new breed of ape with human-like intelligence. Caesar learns unbelievably well, but human authority orders him to be locked up. However, he eventually proves smart enough to escape from his cage and releases an airborne-strain of the cure among thousands of other apes (the ones that are caged with him), increasing their intelligence, like Caesar. Thousands of apes begin to foment revolution. Soon, war breaks out between humans and apes. Rodman may be the only one able to stop them before the ape revolution ends with the apes succeeding, humanity being driven to extinction, and apes becoming the most dominant species on Earth.

scared witless

I did not sleep well last night due to the heavy rains and I was surprised that the thunder and lightning scared me (it normally does not). I felt that the lightning is so near and so not my normal self I turned off my mobile phones and unplug all the appliances (except the refrigerator) because at the back of my mind I suddenly heard my mom's voice scolding us to turn off everything and even our phones when there's lightning because our neighbors in the province television and phones were broken caused by the lightning. And last night, I did what my mom said and turn off and unplug all our appliances, afraid that lightning would struck our house. I don't know why but I felt like as if when lightning appears I felt like it's so near and might struck something.. or I am just being paranoid again :)

I hope that the rain would ceased! :(

LETTER FROM MAYNILAD

I was surprised that MWSI Customer Helpdesk (Maynilad) sent me an email of "NOTICE OF WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION". What made me wonder is that.. our area is not included with the water interruption at all. LOL.

I don't know why, maybe my email is on their database that usually rant on their site if our water got interrupted so they just sent emails of notifications on their notorious "irate" clients. ^_^

But I only sent them three emails complaining that our baranggay did not told us before hand that there would be water cut-off on our area (hence, we don't have any waters on our barrels! I really really hate it when we don't have any waters since that would mean.. have to conserve water and we can't take a bath!) and that they should update their website! they should have post some notice of interruptions on what area would they have some water interruption and on what date, time is the cut-off and of course what time should they expect water supply resumed on their area. And I am super nice about that. I don't blame the CSR of the interruption (there's this irate client that did not like the way the representative answered her questions and was asking for that rep to be fired)..my email is usually asking them what time would we be expecting running waters to be resumed..and I always add on my email that they should put a live chat on their website so that their clients would have an answer on their queries with speedy results (my emails was answered after 2days! -- yup! their service should have some serious make over and yes, I hate it but what can I (we) do? just have to bare with it)

so, it was so weird that I had a missive from them wherein my village is not included. But, anyways, Thank You Maynilad! :)

Peepz, here's the rest of the letter I got. Maybe your area is included :)

HP hangover

After watching the Finale of HP series...I still can't get over it. Did you shed (a) tear/s while watching the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part2? It's really over :(

Anyway, what really fascinate me with the whole series was..with the idea of doing magic. :) I was a fan of Bewitched and growing up reading fairy tales would plant some sort of an idea that.."what ifs we could do that and that sort of things.

here are the things of what ifs that made the series more interesting for me :

1. Being magical - we tend to have some sort of a biased descriptions of witches and wizard that they don't look handsome or pretty to look at.

It was known long ago that witches have some warts on their faces and have a hunching back.

With HP, there's no such things [and in Bewitched, Samantha is gorgeous! :) ] Hermione is so beautiful! :) (she's my fave character in the series!)

So, have you ever wonder of being a witch? :) It would be just simply splendid of being one and turn people you don't like in to toads! :)

2. Flying - I always like the idea of flying :) After watching Peter Pan it really made me think of what it felt like to fly. (Peter Pan and his gang seems happy while they are flying)

So, what if you're given a broom by your godfather and it's a flying broom at that?

Firebolt's the cool thing to have as a gift :)

3. Be invisible - having cloaks that makes you invisible is way too cool! you can spy on your enemies that way :)

4. Turn back time - there are times that I wished that I could turn back time but it simply is too impossible :(

In the series they have magical object (time turner) that would make them go back in time. I so wish that we have that in the real world :) that would be a big help for me

5. Able to apparate - Of all thing that I'd like to have is the ability to apparate! That would be something. No more hassle to go from one place to another. That would be another way to avoid traffic!

I will surely miss HP :) But due to the ending of the movie, I am scourging through http://www.fanfiction.net/ again and find worthwhile good reads that fans made to make the story going :)

How about you? What's your review on the movie? I give it 5/5 ^_^ since it's the last one and I really, really like the series.

rank demoted

Agh! My Page ranking got demoted!(back to PR 0) WAAAAHHHH! Been busy for the last 2 weeks so I wasn't able to post regularly as always and lacked the time to visit friends blogs :(

I'll strive again to gain my previous PR :(

My condolence to the family of Gov. Salceda

My elder sister called me up this morning and asked me what our other sister was talking about. We found out that the mother of Gov. Joey Salceda, Cielo Adelina Salceda, 84 years old, died last night and the cause of death : she slipped on the floor because there's no electricity (there's a Brown out in the 3rd district of Albay because of Tropical Storm Juaning and she slipped outside of her house 'coz it's still muddy-- their town was flooded caused by the storm).

My condolence to the bereaved family of Governor Joey Salceda. Let us pray for the eternal and peaceful repose of her soul.

Aren't you curious?

Until now it boggles the mind on what kind of coffee do they served at PAGCOR to have coffee expenditures amounted to about P1 billion during the previous administration?

Is it Starbucks? or maybe they also send some coffee to our policemen? I think one of these days the previous admin would be summoned by the blue ribbon committee. and if that day comes I would watch it from the start to the finish.

As I previously posted, corruption on that department is not that surprising, with all that money pouring in, if you're really cunning and greedy, you would really lost your soul and just succumb in to be corrupt like your buddies at the top loft of the government. We all know that we have corrupt officials and on that we can't do anything 'coz they are the ones who had the power and position. What really really makes me mad is that..PAGCOR helps our citizens who can't afford to buy or seek health care for themselves or for a member of their family. There's a long line of people everyday at PAGCOR seeking help and my heart really goes out to those people.

Imagine, P1 Billion, that could help a lot of people! It could even pay for our debts at the world bank. There are really people who are so low. :( no wonder our country is poor and not progressing if we have corrupt officials in our government.

I hope that Juan should wise up in our next election and vote for the right people to make our country prosper again. ha! one could dream, right? :(

Anyway, what are your reaction's to P-Noy's SONA?

I was bored throughout his speech. Well, all speeches do makes me bored but every time he speaks why do I feel like it's as if he's like a contestant in "Bugtong ng Wika", or is it just me???

He really has a good command on Tagalog Language (which makes me bored throughout the process) but I find his speech lacking. He again lambasted the previous admin which we all know is corrupt (and the whole wang-wang theme on his speech really lost me there). What we want to hear from him are his plans/projects that are strategic enough to solved poverty and how our country should progress. In short, his speech lacks vision. :(

OK, he did say some nice things that are music to the ears -- "ikulong ang may sala" statement to the doers of tax evasion, smuggling, graft and corruption and extra-judial killings. That's nice! But he never said anything about jueteng which cannot live in a terrain where graft and corruption are absent, thus making his promise in the last Independence Day celebration in Kawit, Cavite, that of making our country graft-free, impossible to happen.

Again, we would wait to see the results of what P-Noy promised again this year and wait for his next SONA. To see is to believe after all :)

We are watching you P-Noy. :) you have 5 more years to keep what you promised to us.."Pagbabago" :)

Yahoo! Long weekend holiday on Aug!

MANILA – Malacañang is set to declare August 30 a non-working holiday for the observance of Eid ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, the Palace said Saturday.

August 1, the start of the Ramadan, however, will not be declared a holiday, Deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte said over government-run dzRB radio.

August 30 falls on a Tuesday and August 29 (Monday) is the celebration of the National Heroes’ Day, also a non-working holiday.

Yay! ^_^

Hate new FB chat version

I am really starting to hate FB new chat app. Here's the reason's why:

1. tried to vid chat. But it ain't working
2. I am online most of the time on the FB chat and I can't seems to make it offline like I used to on the older version of it.
3. Since I am always online I can't hide my stat and while I am browsing ( checking messages, new stat's of friends, newly photo's uploaded by family members) someone would just popped in and chat with me which I don't have the time to chat and then my time would be on FB again for a long time.

Am I the only one who hates it? I really really hope they divert it back to the older version. If it ain't broken don't fix it. :(

did you feel the earth moved?

A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck Luzon on Tuesday at 1:15 a.m., according to the U.S. Geological Service (USGS).

The earthquake epicenter was 102 km West-Northwest of Metro Manila; 24 km Northwest of Olongapo City; 54 km West-Southwest of Angeles City in Pampanga; and 108 km West-Southwest of Cabanatuan City.

It struck at a depth of 61.3 km, and was felt in surrounding areas like Cainta and San Mateo towns in Rizal.

People have tweeted that the earthquake lasted for as little as 10 seconds to as long as 30 seconds, causing tall buildings to shake. — MRT, GMA News

---------------------------

The quaked caught me off guard because it was totally unexpected and I prayed that it would be over soon and hoped there won't be an aftermath after that. I did not went back to sleep after the earthquake and waited for an hour before I can sleep.

I know, I was being paranoid but after what happened in Japan, it made me really uneasy that we should always expect the unexpected. Maybe it's a wake up call for us that we should take care of the earth more. We're not being a good steward of tour homelands :(

Th earth is changing.. can't you feel it? The sudden change of the weather and can't you feel the scourging heat from the sun is getting hotter? And on top of that there are some "seers" claiming to predict the end of the world. The earth is deteriorating, and we have crazy people out there and all we care about is money.

I think the most important thing that we should care about is to be a good children to our Father, taking care of the earth and just be a true human being. :)

What would be PNOY's SONA?

A few more days and we'll be able to hear PNOY's second SONA. It was already announced that classes on all levels in public and private schools in QC will be suspended. [why only in QC??? :( ]

He's been on his post for a year now and he could only do much on such a short time, but then again he did promise us a change in his administration. here's a list that I think he did something, besides him going on dates ;)

1. corruption - we now knew that a lot of corruption is (was?) going on in the AFP and PCSO which on my part is not that surprising (who wouldn't be tempted to do an anomaly if there's a lot of money in front of you and you knew that the top brass on the system is also brewing something? it's all like an anecdote of, " Everybody is doing it. So, join na ko!"). But honestly after watching the live telecast on ANC of the blue ribbon committee with the Ligot's I stop watching it because it just made me mad that they had the guts to do it and lie even if they are caught already. So, I am not that updated with the PCSO scam now.

2. Spartly's island - the past admin did not put much attention on this dispute with whose country really has the rights of it. I know we are not that armed to fight against China with this dispute but I'd really hope that both leaders (PHI and China) would be able to have a conversation on this issue.

3. Giving houses to the Police - I have an uncle who is a police and a friend and it's a really hard job. My uncle loved his job and would be on his post for 24/7 (and it's one of the thankless job that you have) I am glad that our president have also seen the plight of our AFP's

4. And I am glad where he stood by on the RH Bill. I thought he'll just stay quiet about his stand since he would be opposed to the church views on this issue. When he took a stand on this I was relieved that he showed that he won't be swayed by the church decisions on this issue.

But on July 25, on his SONA I hope that he would be able to address issues on projects that would be an answer for unemployment's and other programs that would help our farmers. And I hope that he should refrain from blaming PGMA's past admin mistakes (we all know now the mistakes she made, the corruption and all so we don't need it to hear it from you all over again).

How about you? what would you like to hear from him?

Bieber and Gomez crashed a wedding

(CBS) A couple celebrating its wedding on the beach in Malibu, Calif., got an unexpected surprise when Justin Bieber and girlfriend Selena Gomez reportedly crashed their reception.

TMZ reports that Bieber and Gomez were strolling on the beach when they heard Bieber's hit "One Less Lonely Girl" coming from Rob and Jeanine McCool's wedding reception.

Sources told the website that Bieber snuck up on the guests and then took the microphone, saying, "We just crashed it. We heard a party so we decided to just come. So let's party."

The couple reportedly only stayed for 10 minutes to pose for photos - including some with the happy couple - before heading out.

"WEDDING CRASHERS last night! hahaha. too funny. crazy story," Bieber tweeted on Sunday.

>> who plays Bieber's Music on their wedding day??? so weird! haha. but to each his own heh? They must be really a fan of biebs :)

>>>some peeps we're irked that it only shows that he does not have any manners at all for crashing a wedding. The spotlight should have been on the bride and groom.  But it's their wedding and if they didn't mind having some celebrity wedding crashers then we really have no say on the matter.

>>> I'm not really surprised that he did it. must just be a whim to do that and all in all they all have some fun.

so, cheers! I just hope that the next time you have a concert here in the PHI just show some manners and maybe just maybe i'll learn to like you biebs :)
